The Name: Allegiance To The Most High

What is 'a name'? At the very least it is an identifier. maybe even THE identifier. A name can tell us what a certain place is used for or the intended purpose of a tool. For people a name is given by a parent to show affection or point the child in the direction of a particular purpose. A last name was used at times to express the family's trade. John the baker became John Baker. For items, places and people, names are significant. But what does a name mean for a God. The name of a God - what weight does it carry? while the answer to won't be fully explained here, I deem it a necessary topic of discussion for any serious student of Scripture!

The manifested name, YHWH, is commonly used in progressive churches when speaking about the Most High. In ancient times, names carried power - they weren't mere labels, but declarations of essence and authority. When Moses stood before the burning bush and asked for God's name, the response wasn't casual; it was earth-shattering. "I AM WHO I AM" (Exodus 3:14) - a name so powerful that ancient Hebrew scribes would pause to purify themselves before writing it. Some even opted out of wrfiting it, leaving a space in absence Hashem which means (...) whether through substituting symbols or Speaking The Most High's Name, in doing so is to declare allegiance to The One who is above all!

To show loyalty to The Creator of All is to dis the fallen, lesser Gods and being.

Throughout history, this sacred name has been a beacon of hope and power for those who understand its significance. In ancient Babylon, Daniel and his companions stood firm in their loyalty to YHWH while surrounded by the names and images of countless other deities. Today, in our modern Babylon of competing ideologies and spiritual confusion, declaring His name remains an act of spiritual warfare and divine allegiance. The problem with many of us is that we claim and declare the name of God and yet we fail to act in the face of evil either out of fear of losing material things, fear of embarrassment or just flat out not caring. Hananiah, Mishel and Azariah considered these losses and concluded that their was more to gain in their prophetic revolutionary act of civil disobedience. The oppressive Babylonian Government exploited the people and oppressed them, to no end. Not only was their act of civil disobedience a pledge to YHWH but it was also their stand with the oppressed peoples of Babylon. Standing up for those who are hurt, neglected and exploited, even in a nonviolent act of civil disobedience (like failing to bow to an image of King Nebu or refusing to stand for a flag) can be powerful in showing allegiance to God while fighting for those who have God's heart: the oppressed. We are forever refusing the unwanted advances of evil forces and wicked governments that are fueled by the thirst of other gods. If you claim the name and align your life with the actions of YHWH, success will truly be realized.

As a mentor once told me, every church is a new pocket of resistance, every baptism another pledge of allegiance to the Most High, YHWH(YAHWEH), every celebration of the Lord's Supper a denial of fellowship with lesser Gods and masters and a proclamation of the success of Yahweh's mysterious plan.

Consider the profound implications of this truth: When we gather in His name, we're not merely attending a religious service - we're establishing outposts of heaven's kingdom on earth. Each congregation becomes a strategic position in a cosmic battle, each believer a warrior-priest in YHWH's army. The waters of baptism become more than symbolic - they're the waters of revolution, washing away allegiance to this world's systems and marking us as citizens of a higher kingdom.

We are declaring our allegiance to Yahweh and actively participating in the great revolution against the gods of this world. This rebellion isn't fought only with physical weapons or political machinations. It's waged through acts of love that defy the world's logic, through worship that shatters spiritual strongholds, through communities that demonstrate heaven's culture in the midst of earth's chaos. When we speak His name, we're not merely uttering syllables - we're invoking the authority of the universe's rightful King.

Ephesians 6:12 says,

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against Powers, against the Rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in High Places."

This spiritual warfare manifests in every aspect of our lives. When we speak YHWH's name in worship, we're declaring His sovereignty over every principality and power. When we gather in His name, we're establishing islands of His kingdom in enemy territory. When we serve in His name, we're extending His dominion into areas long claimed by lesser powers.

The revolutionaries of this world seek to change earthly systems, but we're part of a divine revolution that's transforming reality itself. Every time we speak His name, every time we gather in worship, every time we serve in love, we're participating in the greatest uprising in cosmic history - the restoration of all creation under YHWH's rightful rule.
